DESCRIPTION:*This event is open to FBA members only*\n\nThis event marries two of our favorite things here at FBA: The sharing of a successful family business' story and good wine.\n\nFamily Business Alliance will be working with Martha's Vineyard to put on our Annual Wine Tasting at Lyon Street Cafe.\n\nJoining us from her family business in New York with be Andrea Englisis from Athenee Importers to talk wine\, family\, and business. We will have a selection of fine wines from Athenee\, all of which are imported exclusively from Greece\, as well as the perfect pairings for everyone to enjoy. \n\nAndrea Englisis: Born in New York City\, Andrea is daughter of the founders of Athenee Importers\, Anthony & Giota Englisis. Athenee Importers is the oldest importer of Greek wines in the United States\, founded in 1973. Currently\, Athenee represents over sixteen wineries from Greece and Cyprus\, as well as seven distilleries and 2 breweries. \n\nAndrea received her Bachelors in Business Administration for George Washington University in 1997 and. Upon graduation\, she entered the company as an office manager in order to learn every aspect of the business. As her experience and knowledge grew\, Andrea began assuming more sales responsibilities both in New York and nationally. She is responsible for cultivating customer relationships and is actively involved in staff training and education on both the distributor and on the retail level. In addition to education\, Andrea oversees all national sales as well as maintains relationships with the company's suppliers in Greece and Cyprus.\n\nIn 1999\, Andrea began her formal wine studies at the International Wine Center in New York City\, an affiliate of London's Wine & Spirits Education Trust. In 2007\, Andrea has completed and received her Diploma in Wine & Spirits from the WSET. A Diploma from the WSET is the stepping stone and a requirement for entrance into the demanding Masters of Wine program.\n\nAlso in 1999\, Athenee Importers and the Englisis family suffered a great loss when Mr. Anthony Englisis passed away while on vacation in Greece. Mother and daughter persevered and have moved forward to expand the business and focus on introducing the consumer Greek wines and what they have to offer. \n\nAthenee Importers currently distributes its wines in over 30 states across America. The company represents producers that are focused on quality\, regardless of the quantity they produce.
