We are excited to collaborate with John Hancock Investment Management to offer small business owners valuable insights into enhancing the value of their organizations across various dimensions. During this event, John Hancock will present key findings from the "State of Owner Readiness Report." We will explore three common challenges faced by business owners during transitions, outline three crucial goals every owner should be preparing for, and delve into four key areas of capital within every business, and highlight the significance of having a strong professional team.
Following the presentation, the session will transition into an interactive workshop, providing attendees with a hands-on opportunity to assess their own businesses through the lens of these critical topics.

Alex has been partnering with the community at clients at Edward Jones since 2017. He and his team are passionate about empowering the current generation and next generations of business owners in West Michigan, which is why he's immersed himself in learning value creation, succession planning, professional team engagement, and preserving family wealth for future generations with the Exit Planning Institute's Certified Exit Planning Advisor® designation. Alex grew up in West Michigan and is proud to call West Michigan his home, along with his wife and two young children.

Patrick Verdon
Patrick Verdon serves as the Regional Vice President, Business Consultant for greater Michigan with John Hancock Investment Management. He partners with financial advisors by providing global economic and market knowledge, portfolio construction and risk management support, and business practice consultation.
Prior to joining John Hancock Investment Management in 2018, he held the role as Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch and Ameriprise Financial. Patrick brings over 12 years of industry experience. Patrick holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst® designation through the Yale School of Management.
He currently resides in Grand Rapids with his wife Maggie two daughters Sloane and Leighton, and son Banks. In his free time, Patrick enjoys golf, cooking, reading, and following Bay Area professional sports teams.
